Less than a month after sudden death of one Idowu Shukurat
Yetunde, a serving female corps member in Kwara State, the National
Youth Service Corps has lost yet another member in the person of
Akpanika Hope Frampton.
The deceased, an indigene of Calabar Municipal of Cross River State
was mobilized for the 2014 Batch ‘C’, deployed to Imo State and posted
to Christ the Saviour Secondary School, Aboh Mbaise, for his primary
assignment.
A press statement from the management signed by the Director, Press
and Public Relations, Mrs. Olubumni Aderigbe, disclosed that the corps
member was murdered in his residence at about 5.00 pm on Saturday, 6th
June, 2015 with stabs of knife on his body by an unknown person(s).
The statement said the Director General, NYSC, Brig. General Johnson
Bamidele Olawumi, while expressing shock over the ugly incident,
dispatched a team of officers from NYSC Directorate Headquarters, Abuja
to liaise with security agencies and traditional institutions in Imo
State in ensuring the murderers are fished out and brought to justice.
